Press Accreditation: The Amazon and New Economies International Conference
Professionals have until August 25th to submit forms and documents
May we have your attention, journalists! Press pre-registration is open for professionals and media outlets interested in covering The Amazon and New Economies International Conference. The event will take place between August 30th and September 1st, in Belém (PA), and will bring together representatives of forest peoples, civil society, academia, public and private sectors to address issues involving the Environment, the Economy and Sustainable Development.
Confirmed among the international speakers are the Right Honorable Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (1997-2007), Tony Blair; the 8th Secretary-General of the UN, Ban Ki-moon; and the President of Colombia (2018-2022), Iván Duque. Also present will be the president of ICMM, Rohitesh Dhawan; the UNESCO Ambassador for Sustainability, Oskar Metsavaht; Neidinha Suruí, Brazilian activist at the Kanindé Ethno-environmental Defense Association, among others.
Accreditation
Press professionals have until 23:59 on August 25thto apply for one of the vacancies through a specific form available on the event’s website. Requests received after this deadline will not be considered. It is essential to fully fill in all the information, as well as attach the documents in the requested formats.
Those who have their application approved will receive, by email, details of the event and further information on the procedures that should be adopted on the occasion.
The validation of the accreditation is necessary given the limit of physical space, in addition to taking into account security issues and the need to ensure the diversity of media outlets.
About the Conference
The Amazon and New Economies International Conference is promoted by the Brazilian Mining Institute (IBRAM), a non-profit organization that brings together more than 130 companies and institutions that work in the Mineral sector and are committed to protecting the Amazon.
Participation is cost-free, places are limited and anyone can apply. Pre-registration should be done on the official website, where more information such as the program, speakers and Conference venue are also available.
Over the three days, participants will debate topics such as: new economies, bioeconomy, circular economy, strategic minerals, carbon market, solidarity economy, ESG and fighting environmental crimes. The focus will be on finding solutions to keep the forest standing and collaborate with building a Green Agenda for the economic transition.
